Home Learning

Your child's education is extremely important to us. In the event your child can't attend school, we have in place some resources that can be accessed via computers, tablets and laptops at home. Your child's first step should always be through our learning portal DBPrimary which can be accessed by logging in using the link at the bottom right of this page. Your child has their own unique username and password and class teachers have ensured that their pupils have this information.

In DBPrimary, your child can access their class page which includes:

  • Daily tasks set by your child's teacher which are specific to your child's learning
  • Curriculum based activities that have been targeted to your child's year group (Learning Library). Some specific activities have been assigned for your child to complete
  • Links and directions to activities that complement children's classroom work
  • Links to resources we use in school like TTRockstars
  • A link to Purple Mash - a resource we have purchased for pupils to enhance their learning. This requires no additional login and children can save their work online. Purple Mash includes hundreds of curriculum based resources that are visual and fun to use. Your children will be familiar with this resource and can access work they have started in school
  • A link to Discovery Education (Espresso) which is a great resource for all areas of the curriculum and uses videos, online quizes and interactive games to enhance learning
  • A forum for teachers to leave messages and instructions for pupils, and for children to contact each other in a safe environment

In addition to these, there are an increasing number of providers that are producing guidance, resources and activities for parents who wish to ensure their children are staying engaged with their learning. Some of these are detailed below

Talk for Writing is a great scheme and is based on the principles of how children learn. Children imitate the language they need for a particular topic orally, before reading and analysing it, and then writing their own version. Here you'll find a free unit for each year group. They all include a model text which is also available as a streamed audio recording.
