Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to Lydgate!

We are a multi-cultural school at the heart of a supportive and diverse community in Soothill, Batley.

Our vision is to enable our children to have a passion for lifelong learning. Our engaging and exciting curriculum delivered through excellent teaching will inspire our children to be curious about the world around them. Our parents’ support and commitment lie at the heart of our children’s wellbeing and success.

We have 4 core values:

  • Respect – Respect for themselves, each other and for time
  • Pride – Pride in their own and others’ achievements
  • Perseverance – Aiming high and working hard towards it no matter what the obstacles are
  • Independence – Independence in action and thought

We are very proud of our school and our achievements. We are fortunate to learn in a spacious building, in an attractive setting, with panoramic views.

93% of our parents/carers will recommend Lydgate to other parents (Parent Questionnaire Oct 2023). Please come and visit our school to see for yourself what we can offer your child.

We look forward to meeting you.

Mrs A Kishore
